Designs from the Beginning of Time

The Inuit peoples of Greenland are often credited as the inventors of Kayaking. Modern kayak design is based strongly on those original kayaks.

The paddles they used were distinctly different from the modern European paddle. The Greenland paddle was hand carved, often from drift wood and whale bone. It's shape evolved into an efficient, lightweight tool which has stood the test of time.
